Raspberry reminds many of us of the taste of childhood. These fruits have always accompanied me. My grandmother had an alley in her garden with raspberries growing on both sides. As a child, I would happily go to them, choosing the most handsome specimens. Every year, having raspberry preserves in the home pantry was mandatory, because their health-promoting properties helped us in the treatment of winter and spring infections. However, I remember this wonderful smell and delicate taste and I am waiting for the moment when I will taste it again. I continue the tradition to this day by sealing these valuable fruits in jars so that they not only support my health, but, just like in my youth, when added to tea, they make long winter evenings more pleasant.

Raspberry jam without added sugar
Raspberry jam was prepared using the traditional method - without added sugar. Therefore, the noticeable sweetness comes only from the fruit itself. Raspberry jam without added sugar was fried slowly and without haste using a wooden stirrer and a large pot with a thick bottom to prevent it from burning. Long-term frying causes the water to evaporate and the sugars to caramelize. Caramelization is the process of darkening food, which contributes to the formation of caramel as a result of the action of high temperature on the natural sugars of the fruit. This process is very important in the preserves I prepare, because it helps bring out the true flavour of raspberries, which I then seal in a jar.

Use of raspberry jam
It is a great addition to oatmeal, millet, tea, donuts, pancakes, bread, cookies, cakes, ice cream, waffles, potato pancakes, puddings and other products. In other words, raspberry jam provides a wide range of possibilities in preparing meals. So it all depends on your creativity and taste preferences.

What does raspberry jam taste like without added sugar?
After opening the jar, raspberry jam smells of fresh raspberries ripe in the August sun, has a thick consistency, a natural sour taste and a colour similar to freshly picked fruit from the bush. This is an excellent choice for people who are not fans of sweet jams, and it also supports immunity. Moreover, it is a product that will help break the taste of sweet additives in porridge, cakes, cakes and other products. To sum up, in addition to the characteristic taste and smell, it is worth remembering that raspberry jam is a nod to maintaining good health and well-being.
